Roland Bernard AKA Rolly Brown

August 30 1934 – April 14 2017

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dad. Dad passed away peacefully at the Nanaimo Travelers Lodge in the early hours of Good Friday, April 14, with family at his side. He will be remembered for his care of family and his dry sense of humour. Dad was a Legion member for 55 years, having served in Korea (54-55) during peacekeeping. He was also a UA Local 170 member for 51 years in the piping trades and damn proud of these accomplishments. Dad was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Freda (Dec 2014), three brothers Jimmy, Paddy, Alex, and one sister Elenor. Dad leaves to mourn his passing two sons Pat (Debbie), and Mike (Tami), five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Four brothers Art, Donald, Bobby, Rohn and two sisters Edna and Loretta. The family would also like the thank the doctors, nursing, care and support staff at Wexford Creek and Nanaimo Travelers Lodge for their care and compassion of our dad while in their care. There will be a celebration of life to be held at Legion #257 in Lanzville BC, May 27, 2017. Doors open at 11:30am. Celebration at 12:00pm.
