Mr. Rod Derksen passed away at Vernon, BC on Friday, October 2, 2009 at the age of 60 years. He was born at Vancouver, BC, on Monday, April 11, 1949 and had lived at the coast for most of his life, retiring to Vernon in 2005. Rod was employed with Anglo – American – Cedar Products for 26 years. Rod was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, computers and crosswords.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, wife, Bernie of Vernon, two sons and two daughters, Ken of Abbotsford, Kimber (Nicole) of Vernon, Melanie Worrall (DJ) of Calgary and Lorraine Molina (Ernesto) of Abbotsford; grandchildren, Braden, Siomara, Tristin, Antonio,Tysen and Jeramie. Also survived by four brothers, Rick, Royal, Randy and Robyn, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Rod was predeceased by is parents Edwin and Ruth and father-in-law Dos Belliveau. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 2980 Smith Drive, Armstrong, BC.
Cremation. A tea will follow in the Reception area and all are welcome. Friends wishing to may make memorial contributions to the Childrens Hospital Neo Natal Unit.
