September 14, 1928 – August 10, 2020
Raymond (Ray) Teto quietly passed on August 10, 2020. Ray was born in Bowie (now Cambie), BC on September 14, 1928.
Ray never married and spent his life on the family farm. Throughout his life he enjoyed keeping contact with family and friends. He made many trips, accompanied with family, to Finland to visit with family there.
Ray’s kind, gentle and quiet nature made him easy to love and impossible to forget. Whenever anyone needed help, Ray was there.
After suffering a stroke 7 1/2 years ago, he moved to Piccadilly Care Home in Salmon Arm. While there, he enjoyed many visits from friends and family, and many regular outings to the mall and Canadian Tire with Roy.
The number of folks who stopped to chat and say hello to Ray on those outings was a testament to how many people cared about him.
Ray’s remaining family would like to extend their gratitude to all those caregivers who worked so hard to make sure that Ray’s life was the best it could be under the circumstances. Thank you also to all those friends and family who took the time to visit him and remind him how important he was in their lives.
Ray is predeceased by his father Matt (passed 1941), his mother Mary (passed 1963), half sister Helen (passed 1995), half sister Sylvia (passed 1997), brother Henry (passed 2008) and sister in law, Esther (passed 2010).
Uncle Ray will be missed very much by his remaining family and friends. He is survived by his nephew Roy Teto, nephew Kurtz Fitchthorn and extended family in Canada, USA, and Finland.
A small graveside service will be held for Ray with family in attendance. A remembrance will be planned for a later date.
