PALMATEER; Ona Elaine

Ona passed away peacefully on August 2, 2016, surrounded by the love of her caregivers and family. She was predeceased by her husband Albert (Ab) and her brother Clayton and sister June. Loving mother to Judy Howdle (John) and Barb Thomas (Glenn Oddy) and wonderful grandmother to six grandchildren Christine, Debbie, Dwayne, Deena, Amber (step), Kim and eleven great grandchildren. Ona is also survived by her sisters Trixy and Gay her brother-in-law Tom and sister-in-law Marion and numerous nieces and nephews. She was born in Tuberose, Saskatchewan on January 6, 1923 the eldest child of Charles and Jean Skelton. The family moved to Langley in 1933 and except for a brief period on Saturna Island she remained happily in the Fraser Valley for the majority of her life. Ona devoted her life to family to friends and will be greatly missed. She enjoyed life and was accomplished at sewing, needlework and knitting. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Christine Morrison Hospice, Magnolia Gardens and to her niece Sherry Tingley for their compassionate and loving care of Ona. Donations, in lieu of flowers, are encouraged to Christine Morrison hospice.
