A resident of Cumberland Lodge, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Naida was predeceased by her husband Norman, parents Gunnar and Jennie Jonsson, brothers Raymond and Gordon. She is survived by her sons Dennis from Comox and Graeme (Heather) from Burnaby, grandson Erik from Burnaby, brothers Melvin (Janice) from Nanoose Bay, and Allan from Oyster River, sisters Anna from Black Creek, Edith from Duncan and Beverly (Stuart) from Courtenay and many nieces and nephews. Naida generously volunteered her time for many organizations including Snow to Surf Committee, North Island Radio Aids, Comox Valley Citizens on Patrol, Search and Rescue and Courtenay Fire Protection District. Naida worked at many elections and was a Clerk at the Courtenay Post Office. In her leisure time, she enjoyed golfing with Norm, bowling, curling, cross stitching and many others. Naida had a smile that would light up a room. Many thanks go to the amazing and caring workers of Cumberland Lodge; they truly are angels on earth. A Memorial gathering in celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 17th at 2pm from Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, with a reception to follow in the “Garden Room” of the Funeral Home.
