Hall (Merkley), Meryl: passed away with family at her side September 9, 2015 in Vernon at the age of 72. Meryl is survived by her sons Brett (Ellen) Merkley of Kam-loops,  Steve (Heather) and grandson Christopher Merkley of Kelowna, as well as siblings Karen Powell of Calgary and brother Byron (Gladys) Powell of Regina. She was predeceased by brother Ron (Faye) Powell of Orleans, ON. She had many friends and the family would like to acknowledge the special place that Gail Altwasser and Nanci Boswell held in Meryl’s life.

Meryl had an extensive career in office accounting, working with Kal Tire in Vernon for over 20 years and in Kelowna for St. George Moving, Hart Millwork, and finally Sunco Drywall right up until cancer prevented her from working earlier this year. The people at these locations made a difference in her life and she often recounted tales of her time spent with them.

Meryl was an avid gardener and lover of all sports horse related. Her family and friends are grateful for the care provided to Meryl by the staff at the Vernon Hospice House. There will be no service by request. Donations may be made to the North Okanagan Hospice Society.
