Mary Plotnikoff passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on October 11, 2010 at Talarico Place in Castlegar.
Mary was born February 17, 1925, in Upper Gibson Creek. Mary’s many interest and hobbies included cooking, gardening, embroidery, crochet and sewing. She was a wonderful hostess and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. One of her greatest achievements was obtaining her Driver’s License when she was in her 50’s. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-children.
Mary is predeceased by her infant son Cyril Plotnikoff, Father Peter, Mother Dora, sister Ann Holuboff, husband John M. Plotnikoff, brother Peter Zavtsoff.
Mary is survived by her daughter Betty (John) Osachoff, son Bill (Gail) Plotnikoff, grandchildren Kathy (Barry) Zaitsoff, Brian (Patsy) Osachoff, Kelly (Duncan) Morrison, Kevin and Justin Plotnikoff; great-grandchildren Alina, Matthew, Michael Zaitsoff, Brandon, Kassie and Kolby Morrison; sisters Doris Harelkin, Alice Liberty and Violet Gorkoff; and many nieces and nephews and extended families.
Funeral Services were held at the Castlegar Funeral Chapel on October 15, 2010. Burial at the Brilliant Cemetary and followed by a luncheon at the Brilliant Cultural Centre.
This gentle, kind and generous woman will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her. May Mary rest in peace, embraced by the Lord, in God’s Heavenly Kingdom.
