Marvin Grant Schettler

After a 15 month battle with pancreatic cancer Grant Schettler passed away at the Abbotsford Hospital on Monday June 19. Grant was born on May 2, 1950 to Jackie and Della Schettler. He was raised in Plumas Manitoba and went on to earn his Masters Degree in Education. He taught in Morden and Elkhorn Manitoba. In Elkhorn he was the principal. He moved to British Columbia in the eighties and taught in Mission. He found his niche while working with students at risk. As a young man he was involved in hockey. He played for the Portage Terriers and really enjoyed coming back to Manitoba in 2016 to watch the Terriers win the RBC Cup. He played rec hockey with the Wasted Nights in Abbotsford. Grant loved to attend car shows in his 64 Corvette with his friends and neighbours. He was predeceased by his mom and Dad and his wife Brenda (Collins). He will be sadly missed by his brother Lorne (Joanne) and his partner Jan, special cousins Della and John, several nieces and nephews and Brenda’s family.
