Marilyn passed away suddenly but peacefully in her sleep at Hardy View Lodge on New Year’s Eve 2017.
Marilyn was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and lived in Regina (with many weekends and summers spent at the beach at Fort Qu’Appelle) until moving to Vancouver in 1965 with her first husband Daniel Chapman.
She was remarried in 1974 to John Anderson and they eventually relocated to Kelowna and then to Grand Forks in 2007. Marilyn was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in the fall of 2007 and lived the last 6 and half years at Hardy View Lodge.
She was predeceased by her husband, John and is survived by her daughter Brenda (Andy), son Bob (Lisa), grandchildren Braelyn, Riley, Daniel and Megan, sisters Jean (Bill) and Shirley (Ross) and many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was always so happy and easy going, enjoying time with friends and with her grandkids. Despite the inevitable decline brought on by her condition, she was always friendly and happy with everyone she encountered.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hardy View Lodge (Christina Lake Cottage) for the amazing care they provided Mom. As her condition required greater and greater support, the staff always gave Mom such compassionate care for which we are extremely grateful.
There will be no service at this time as the family will be planning a celebration of life to be held in Saskatchewan in the summer.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hardy View Lodge in memory of Marilyn Anderson.
