Lisa Lee

Barton Singer

January 5, 1970 – April 5, 2017

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Lisa Lee Barton Singer. Predeceased by her father Jack Barton, step-father Walt Wick, sister Gloria Wick and grandmother Mary Young. She was a caring wife to Bill Singer for the past 14 years, and loving mother to son, Kayden (13) and daughter, Jordan (11). Lisa is survived by her mother Carol Wick (Bill Syme), step-mother Lin Barton, mother and father in-law Edie and Dave Singer, brothers Rob Barton and Sean Gray, sisters Dawn Curle (Dan) and Patti Stockwell (Jim). She was also a proud aunt to Robert Lowe, Jackson, Avery and Mya Curle, Liam and Dean Stockwell, and Tricia Thistle.

Born and raised on Vancouver Island and drawn by family to the prairies of Alberta, Lisa loved nature of all kinds, but she always called the Island home and loved sharing it with anyone who visited. Lisa was mischievous with a great sense of humor, quick to laugh and giggle. Always playful and hardworking, she will be missed by colleagues at Costco, where she worked for the past 18 years as a pharmacy technician. Nothing however was more important to Lisa than motherhood to Kayden and Jordan, who were the centre of her world. Lisa was most often found with sunglasses on her face and a camera in her hands, forever capturing moments of celebration, joy and accomplishments by the kids. Always ready to lend a hand, if someone was struggling, Lisa would do everything she could to help them out.

Thanks go out to the palliative care nurses at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, and friends who visited and lifted Lisa’s spirits during her courageous battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, and in honour of Lisa always helping others, the family requests that you make a donation to a charity of your choice in Lisa’s honour.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 9th, 2017, 1-4 p.m. at the Bethlehem Centre, 2371 Arbot Rd. For travellers to the memorial service, the Bethlehem Centre has accommodations, visit for more information.
