Kenneth Raymond Nelson, of Nanaimo BC, passed away peacefully on Friday June 15, 2018 at the age of 86. Born in Kelsey Alberta to Mable and Harold Nelson.
Ken lived a large part of his life on Vancouver Island and was a hard worker and a successful business man owning multiple Home Hardware franchises. In his spare time Ken enjoyed working with wood and making fantastic Inlay wood pieces, and he had passion for playing Bridge (the card game). Not only was Ken a business owner, he was also a proud member of the Canadian Airforce and was stationed in Germany for some time.
Ken went on his own terms and he completed all the things he wanted to do before his passing which included hosting a celebration of his life that he enjoyed with his sisters, son, grandchildren, and best friends, with a special thank you to Laurie for all of her support. Ken is survived by his sisters Arlene and Donna Mae, his brother Bryan, sons Gordon and Ronald, and his daughter Patricia. Ken was predeceased by his loving wife Marion.
There will be an interment for Ken at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens at a later date where he will be joined in peace with his loving wife Marion.
