We regret to announce the death at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Sunday, February 17, 2008, of Kay Sangster (nee Houston) at the age of 89 years. Kay was born in Vancouver, and was a resident of Vernon since 1964. She was a chaperone with the Vernon McIntosh Girls Pipe Band for a number of years and was an enthusiastic member of the Stardusters Square Dance group for over 40 years. Kay was predeceased by a daughter, Marilyn Roberts in 2004, and granddaughter Tasha Soichuk in 1989. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years, Walker; son Keith (Debbie) and daughter Maureen (Phil) Soichuk; and grandchildren Bryan (Ami) Roberts and Tim Soichuk. She is also survived by brother Bert (Marg) Houston of New Westminster and sister Belle Jackson of Halifax and numerous extended family members. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 22, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home.
