June (Skelton) Brown

August 15, 1925 – March 5, 2015

June (Skelton) Brown left Langley on March 5, 2015. June was born in Tuberose, SK on August 15, 1925 and her family moved to the Jericho Road in Langley in 1933. From there she met her future husband Tom and his family. Tom and June started out walking to Langley Prairie School together and ended up walking through the rest of her life. June worked in the Langley Greenhouses, Lulu Island peat fields, Chilliwack Hop fields, Ashcroft Manor and finished her working life as a Medical Steno at Riverview (Essondale). When WWII ended and Tom was safely home, they were married in Langley in 1946. They lived on Saturna Island, in Jervis Inlet, many years in Surrey and then back to Langley these past years where all of her immediate family lives. June is survived and missed by her husband Tom, daughter Sherry (Garry) Tingley, grandsons Shawn (Chelan) Brayshaw, Jay (Rhonda) Brayshaw, great-grandkids Remy and Teagan Brayshaw and step great- grandson Michael Worms, sisters Ona Palmateer, Trixy Dickson and Gay Gahan,including many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Larry and brother Clayton. The family wishes to thank the comradeship of the Whalley Legion Branch 299 over the last many years and most of all thanks to the angels of Langley Lodge for her happy and comfy final months. Service will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 2pm, Valley View Chapel 14644 – 72 Ave., Surrey. Reception to follow.
