Jack passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on September 2, 2011.
He was predeceased by his daughter Penny, mother Lillian, father John A. and siblings Doug, Alex, Don and Lillian.
He is survived by Velma, his wife of 64 years, and his children John, Coleen and Valli (Axel).
He will be missed by his grandchildren, Beth, Tracey, Kirsten, Kathryn, Francheska, Garrett and Janice, his 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was born and grew up in Quesnel and returned there to work in the family businesses for many years after studying at college in Victoria.
He was president, zone commander and later manager of Legion Branch 94. He was made a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion as well as the Quesnel Fire department where he was a volunteer firefighters for over twenty years.
He served as a school board member, and was an avid curler, golfer and supporter of local hockey and baseball teams.
In 1977 he moved to Edmonton, and after working there for eight years, retired to Aldergrove where he has lived for the past 25 years. The sports channels and game shows have lost a dedicated viewer.
Memorial service to be held in the chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 27555-31st Avenue, Aldergrove, Saturday, September 10th at 1:00 pm, with a later memorial service in Quesnel.
No flowers please. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice.
