Joe D’Andrea

October 22, 1935 – January 19, 2021
With great sadness we announce the loss of our beloved father Joe D’Andrea on January 19, 2021 at the age of 85.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years Rosalia, his children Aurora and Eduard, Grandchildren Erika, Alexandrea and Elisha. His brother Nata, brother and sister in-law Gian and Susie and nephews and nieces Jason, Christian, Nick and Tina.
Joe was born on October 22, 1935 in Rauscedo Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1956. In 1958 he came to Williams lake from Penticton to work on the construction of Williams Lake Secondary School. He instantly fell in love with Williams lake and the Cariboo and never left.
It was the perfect place to follow his passion for the outdoors. He was proud to live in Williams lake and over the 60 years of working in the community he left many examples of his masonry work in the homes and buildings in the community.
One of his last works before he retired was the stonework at the new Williams Lake tourist center. It was dear to his heart because it represented what he loved most and wanted others too also, The Cariboo.

Gone Fishing
I’ve finished life’s chores assigned to me,
So put me near a river headed out to sea.
Please send along my fishing pole
For I’ve been invited to the fishin’ hole.
Where every day is a day to fish,
To fill your heart with every wish.
Don’t worry, or feel sad for me,
I’m fishin’ with the Master of the sea.
We will miss each other for a while,
But you will come and bring your smile.
That won’t be long you will see,
Till we’re together you and me.
To all of those that think of me,
Be happy as I go out to sea.
If others wonder why I’m missin’
Just tell ’em I’ve gone fishin’
