Hector William Fransen, a resident of Creston, BC passed away at the Creston Valley Hospital on February 21, 2012 at the age of 94 years.

Hector was born to Louise and Charles Fransen on February 14, 1918 at Kerrobert, Saskatchewan and he received his education in Claresholm, Alberta.

Hector married Hazel Adele Pepper in Calgary, Alberta in 1943. After Hazel’s passing, he married Catherine Harriett Wynnyk in Crawford Bay, BC in 1993. Hazel and Catherine were sisters.

Hector was an expert shoe and leather worker for over forty years. He was a member of the Lions Club, many horse clubs and was a veteran. Hector was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

He was predeceased by both wives, Hazel and Catherine, and all but one of his siblings.

He will be sadly missed by his brother Walter Fransen of Edmonton, Alberta and nieces and nephews.

The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 2:00 pm at G.F. Oliver Funeral Chapel with Canon Randy Wood officiating. Royal Canadian Legion Veteran Tribute.
