George “Bud” Ritchie

George "Bud" Ritchie

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bud Ritchie; born in Vancouver, spent most of his life in Maple Ridge, and retired in 100 Mile House.

He lived a good life but lost his battle with cancer on December 31, 2017. He will be greatly missed by his wife of almost 53 years, Mary Ritchie; his only sibling, Sharann Meek (from London, Ontario); and his daughters, Eva Mast, Deanna Ritchie and Cindy Ritchie.

He was very proud of his family and especially his grandchildren, Carolynn, Shane, Dakota and Ryan; and great grandchildren, Liam, Emmalee, Abigail and Alexis.

He was loved by many and had some great friends who were really more like family, some of the best ones going back to when he was just a little boy.

Bud was insistent that no one be sad when he passed and only remember him with smiles and laughter. So with that in mind, his family will be organizing a celebration of his life, to be held in May of 2018 in 100 Mile House, BC. Details are being worked on and will be provided as soon as they are finalized.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.

Cariboo-Chilcotin Funeral Services entrusted with the arrangements.
