It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Florence Mary Thomas (nee Theodore). After her battle with MDS, a form of blood-cancer, Florence passed away peacefully with family by her side in 100 Mile House District General Hospital at the age of 71 on November 28, 2018.
Florence was born in Canim Lake on June 24, 1947. Florence is survived by her loving husband Nicholas Thomas and her children Daryl, Michael, Michelle, Lloyd, Norma (Adrian), Reni (Owen), Nichol, and Becky (Justin). Also survived by her siblings Mitch, Victorine, Edna, and Delores (Wilf). Florence loved being a wife, mother, sister, aunt, and a grandmother.
She had many great talents, cooking, crafting, knitting, gardening, sewing, and volunteering. Her fridge and house were open to everyone who needed a place to rest and eat. Florence worked in many fields such as a cook and janitor for the Eliza Archie Memorial School and daycare on the Canim Lake Reserve. She was also a fitness instructor in her younger years.
Funeral services will be held on December 7, 2018 at the Canim Lake Gymnasium at 11 am.
