Ferruccio Pellegrin “Ferro”

Ferruccio Pellegrin "Ferro"

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ferruccio Pellegrin at the age of 89.  Ferro passed away peacefully at Castleview Care Centre on June 30, 2018 and leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years Louise, son Glenn (Delaine), daughter Donna (Alex), cherished grandchildren, Nicole (Tristan), Scott, Melissa, Lauren and great-granddaughter Tessa.

He also leaves behind his niece Lorean, and nephews Larry and Don.  He is predeceased by his sister Josephine.

Ferro was born and raised in Trail, BC and was a very active part of the community. He could always be found down at the curling rink or on the golf course. He was also an avid gardener taking great pride in his vegetable garden and fruit trees. He lovingly tended his garden and liked to share the fruits of his labour.

Ferro was a family man and his greatest joy was having his whole family together whether it was at Christmas, birthday celebrations, or summer barbeques spent out on the backyard patio. He formed lifelong friendships through the years and cared deeply for his friends – he would always do his best to help anyone in need.

The family wishes to thank the many friends of Ferro for their love and support over the years and to the wonderful community of Mountainside Village who welcomed him with open arms. One of his favourite things to do at Mountainside was bake pizzelle for all to enjoy. We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to the amazing staff at Castleview Care Centre who lovingly cared for Dad when we couldn’t be there.  We cannot thank you enough.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Trail on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:30 am with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Health Foundation (Columbia View Lodge) at 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail, BC, V1R 4M1 or online at www.kbrhhealthfoundation.ca or to a charity of your choice.
