Evelyn Lola Jacobsen (nee Webb)
March 3, 1925 (or November 3, 1925) – September 16, 2014
She was born in the foothills of the Rockies. She left home at age 17 to pick apples in the Okanagan and married John Jacobsen at 18.
She spent the remaining war years at Whitehorse, YT where she gave birth to her son Glenn. After the war they lived on the family ranch NW of Calgary, AB.
From 1952 to 1965 they lived throughout Alberta building highways. In 1965 they moved to British Columbia where they lived until retirement at Sicamous, BC.
She was widowed in 1990 and spent the remainder of her years at Sicamous and then at Vernon, BC.
She leaves behind her son Glenn, his wife Margaret, his previous wife MaryAnn, as well as her granddaughter Michelle (Bertus Van Wyk), grandson Wade (Leslie), brother Gerald Webb, and sister-in-law Francis McKillop.
A celebration of her life is planned for Thursday, September 25 from 7:00 pm at the Schubert Centre in Vernon, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army are suggested.
