Louise passed away peacefully on February 16, at the age of 85 with family at her side.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Willard; children, Laurie (Tim), Barry (Gail) and Val (Janet); grandchildren, Amy (Chris), Michael (Nicole), Clark, Shelby (Scott), Byron (Chelsie) and Adam; great grandchildren, Zachary, Madeline Louise, and Adela Louise, as well as many other extended family and friends.
Louise was born and raised in Penticton to Anna (nee Wiltse) and Burt Lye. After high school Louise worked for the Danish Embassy while taking courses in Vancouver and staying at the YWCA. Once back in Penticton she worked in the office of a local logging company and once married she helped as a bookkeeper for the family construction company.
Louise had a passion for gardening and bird watching in her backyard with her loving husband. She spent hundreds of hours watching her husband, then later her children and grandchildren playing baseball, soccer and hockey. She was an avid curler and was always up for a game of cards. Puzzles, embroidery, knitting and ceramics were also favourite past times.
A Memorial Service followed by a reception will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 3 pm at the Penticton United Church, 696 Main Street.
A private family interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Penticton will precede the service.
