The family regrets to announce the passing of Elsie Perepolkin, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
Elsie was born July 15, 1925 in Glade, B.C. After losing her parents at a young age, she grew up in an orphanage.
Elsie was pre-deceased by her husband of 50 years, Paul Perepolkin, who passed away Sept. 15, 1996.
Elsie is survived by her three sons Michael, Paul and Fred. Also survived by her Grandson Trevor who, with wife Terri, recently had their first baby, Hana Kate Perepolkin. Elsie was so proud to see and hold her great granddaughter.
Affectionately known as ‘Buzzy’, Elsie was known for cooking, baking, and gardening – always providing ample fresh garden food for her entire family. Buzzy was also known for being a very social lady and enjoying a ‘cool one’ with many good friends.
Even though she couldn’t read the scoreboard, Buzzy was a very enthusiastic curling fan that was often found at the curling club. Always a supporter at local bonspiels, she also travelled across the country many times, as far as Nova Scotia, to show her support.
She fought hard against her health issues until the end. She was a devoted Mother who cared deeply about her family, Mom will be dearly missed and forever loved by her family. God bless her and may she rest in peace.
Thank you to all the nurses, care aids, doctors, integrated health service, ambulance teams and all the Vernon Jubilee Hospital staff who provided exceptional care and comfort. Also thank you to Vernon Restholm staff for your compassion and care.
The family would like to invite friends to join them in a celebration of life at the Vernon Curling Club on Friday August 3rd, from 3pm to 6pm. The family asks that you just stop by for a visit, and that any donations be sent to Breast Cancer Research.
