Dorothy Louisa Chapman went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2018 at Chilliwack, BC at the age of 94.
Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law Barbara; sons David (Margaret), Daniel (Judy), Philip (Cheryl) and Kenneth (Carol); daughter Beverly; grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Paul and son Vic.
Dorothy Louisa Gallop born in Vernon, BC, moved in 1930 to Cloverdale with her family where her father opened the first Overwaitea Store. In 1942 she married Paul Chapman and raised 6 children on their 50 acre dairy farm. Retiring off the farm, in 1972 they purchased 5 acres on Bradner Rd in Aldergrove.
With retirement, they enjoyed many trips until Paul died in 1984. Eventually Dorothy moved to Chilliwack in 1990. Wherever she lived, she lived out her faith in God. She was involved in the Cloverdale Baptist, Aldergrove Baptist and Sardis Fellowship Baptist Churches. She loved her family, friends and church.
The last few years it was her joy to spend time at the Cabin in Lac La Hache…even at the age of 93. True to herself, she lived an ordinary life for God who transformed the ordinary to extraordinary.
Thank you to all her dear friends and each Fraser Health caregiver, and the private caregivers. You know she loved you! A special thank you to Dr. Q. Smith, Dr. C Chris and the nurses at Cascade Hospice.
