Passed away in Vernon, BC, June 5, 2004. DONALD ARTHUR HARRISON, late of Vernon, formerly of Vancouver/Squamish where he was employed as a Longshoreman and belonged to the I.L.W.U. for 35 years. Veteran of WW2 where he served as a gunner (1940-1946) in the R.CA Member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He is predeceased by 2 brothers, Floyd and Elwin and sister Pearl and is survived by his loving wife Mary of 35 years, 2 daughters, Janice (Leonard) Garis, Pitt Meadows, Joanne (Maurice Poirier) Dowse, Surrey. Stepson, Ken Spotswood, Whitehorse. 5 grandchildren, Amanda (Patrick) Gariepy, Victoria, Jill (Liam Brennan) Dowse, Surrey, Shelby (Jim Merke) Garis, Maple Ridge, Katelyn Dowse, Surrey, Matthew (Natalia Job) Garis, Victoria. 4 great grandchildren, MacKenzie, Emma, Callum, Joseph. 1 brother, Orval (Stella) Harrison, Thornhill, Ont. Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Donations may be made in memory of Don to B.C. Heart & Stroke Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society. No service by request.
