Dean Cramb was born on June 29, 1947 in Vancouver, BC. He is predeceased by his father Hank Cramb and his mother Eileen Cramb.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Cramb (Puetz), two brothers Ken Cramb (Helen) and Tim Cramb (Lynn). He also leaves to mourn, his three sons, Jerod (Sarah), Nathan (Lisa) and Cale (Judith), grandchildren Autumn, Ryan, Sydney, Vienna, Kendra, Chase, Caden and RJ.
Dean moved to Vancouver Island when he was three years old and lived the majority of his life in the Cowichan Valley, except for a brief period in The Pas, Manitoba, where he met his wife, Mary.
Upon moving back to Duncan, he was able to pursue his passion for racing for twenty years. He built and raced stock cars at Western Speedway, Washington State and Oregon. After retiring from racing, he pursued another lifelong passion of flying. He received his private pilot license in 1968. Owned, built, redesigned and flew different models of aircraft. Dean was also the President of the Duncan Flying Club for several years.
We wish to thank the many friends who have supported us through this time and the Palliative Care providers that gave continuous support during his battle. We are also very thankful to Jim Sakawsky of Shawnigan Mill Bay Auto Parts, Dan McClure, Ken Emerson, and Sam Hieno for the years of friendship they gave Dean. Those four friends assembled his 1940 Oldsmobile, got it through safety inspections and enabled him to ride around in it before he passed. Their assistance and caring will never be forgotten.
“He will be forever missed by his family and many friends and will live on in our memories.”
