It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Charlie Bergunder on October 22, 2016. He was 70 years old.
Charlie was born in Russell, Manitoba. He became a life-long resident of Quesnel in the 1970s, where he met and married Sandy and became the proud father to his only child, Johanna. He worked at Weldwood/West Fraser for over 35 years.
Charlie had a passion for art, which reflected his love of nature.
Charlie lived a solitary lifestyle and found great enjoyment being outdoors, surrounded by nature. However, he always loved hearing how his “big girl” was doing, referring to his precious grandchild, Grace.
Charlie is survived by his daughter, Johanna (Jason), and his granddaughter, Grace; as well as his brothers Allen (Evelyn), Leonard (Diane), Stan, and David (Donna), and his sister, Gail (Clancy). He is predeceased by his parents and sister Jean.
Friends and family are welcome to join the Celebration of Life in his favourite season, spring.
April 8, 2017 at the Quesnel Legion from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
