The Kennedy family sadly announces the passing of husband, father, and grandfather Charles William Nassau (Bill) Kennedy on Monday June 11, 2012.

Bill was born on March 12, 1943 in Ottawa. As the son of an RCAF pilot, he and his family traveled extensively throughout Canada and Europe before settling in Vernon. Bill enjoyed a long career with Baron, Kennedy, and later Capri Insurance; his professional successes were a direct result of his compassion and unwavering loyalty to his clients. As an advocate for the City of Vernon, Bill was involved with several local

organizations such as Kiwanis and The Boys and Girls Club. He also served as a board member of the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre and Vernon Art Gallery. He found great joy in supporting many

programs directed toward improving the community of Vernon. Bill will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and dry sense of humour and love of exotic cars.

Bill is survived by: his wife Julia, children Catherine, Marlowe, Erin, grandson Marlowe, sister Barbara,

brother Nelson, first wife Alice and their extended families. Friends and community members wishing to participate in a celebration of Bill’s life are warmly invited to The Paddlewheel Boathouse at 7813 Landing Road on Wednesday June 20th from 2-4pm. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Vernon SPCA, 4800 Haney Road, Vernon, B.C. V1H 1P6.
