Caroline Marie Miller
It is with very heavy hearts we announce that Caroline (Carol) Marie Miller (nee Short) has passed away peacefully in Burnaby, BC on March 4, 2017 at the age 82 after a very lengthy illness. It’s okay to let go. You were tired and fought so hard, for so very long, but through the pain you still stayed strong. We knew there would soon come a day when God would come to carry you away. Caroline is survived by her children Roberta Hambly (Rick) of 100 Mile House, Robert Hallam Jr. of Abbotsford, Tracey Hallam of Port Moody, Frank Hallam (Marlene) of Burnaby, Marie Hallam of Burnaby, seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She is now reunited with her loving husband, Frank Miller and her grandson James, as well being predeceased by her brothers Ross, Ralph, Frank, Ray, Laurence and sister Joy. Caroline was born on December 4, 1934 in East Whitby, Ontario and moved to Vancouver around 1945, where in 1953 she married and began to raise a family. She took great pride in her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her loving, fun and supportive nature made her a joy to be around. She enjoyed gardening, singing with The Sweet Adelines, golfing, her Siamese cats, her weekend spot at Cutlus Lake, and most of all spending time with her family who will miss her dearly.
A celebration of Carol’s life is scheduled for April 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm at St. Stephen’s Church (9887 Cameron Street, Burnaby). All are welcome. Condolences can be sent to
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC. The family would like to thank the staff of The Salvation Army Buchanan Lodge, Camellia Unit, for their loving and compassionate care of our Sweet Caroline.
