GILL; Bhupindar Singh (Ray)
Bhupindar Singh Gill (Ray) was born to Harjinder Singh and Harpal Kaur Gill on September 11, 1967, in Mission, BC and passed away May 18, 2016. Naranjan Singh Gill (great grandfather) arrived to Canada in 1906 from Nathuwala Jadid, India, as the head of a pioneer family in British Columbia. Mohan Singh Gill (grandfather) arrived to Canada 1952 and Ray’s father in 1956. They eventually settled in Mission, BC and worked in various lumber companies throughout the generations. Ray, however, worked with Corrections Services Canada, since 1993. His call sign was Alpha 10 and less professionally known as Mocha Panther, Shazaam and Judge (lol). Ray was indeed the Robin Williams amongst this family and friends. His huge, generous heart, smile and zest will greatly be missed, not to mention fashion sense. The void is palpable, the loss is inconceivable and the pain is intolerable. He will be missed by his children, Brandon Singh Gill and Kelsey Kaur Gill, his wife and friend Sukhvinder Kaur Gill (Wendy), his parents mentioned above, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Inderjit, Baljit Singh Sidhu and Sarabjit, Charanjit Singh Brar, also by his father-in-law Bachan Singh Grewal and brothers-in-law Harvi Singh Grewal, Simmy and Bill Singh Grewal and Paramjit. He will be missed by all his extended family, which is not extended by any means; his uncles, aunts, numerous amazing cousins and an extension of his children, his 9 nieces and nephews, Navin, Bryan, Imrin, Justin, Gavin, Rajan, Orissa, Arjan and Aneel, also a great niece and nephew! He will also be missed by his Corrections family and friends. You will dearly be missed Ray and never forgotten! I thank you for telling us you are at peace now, my love, I’m so sorry we couldn’t get to you first. A Memorial Service will be held May 27 at 12:30 at Fraser River Funera Home, 2061 Riverside Rd., Abbotsford, BC.
