It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mom, nana, sister, aunt & friend Beverley.
Mom was born in Victoria, BC, the eldest child of the late Jack and Mildred Roberts. She grew up in Cordova Bay where she excelled at sports, arts & academics as a young girl.
Sixty years ago she met her one true love, David Simmons, and the rest is history. They had many adventures in life from owning restaurants to building houses. Starting life together in Victoria then moving to the Comox Valley in 1973.
Our mom was an exceptionally hard worker who’s main purpose in life was to look after her family and others. She was selfless, kind, loyal, intelligent, and above all else a loving and compassionate soul. She adored her family, her pets, the BC Lions and saw the world in technicolour.
Left to grieve her loss is her husband, Dave, sons; Michael & wife Susan, Ken & wife Kaylene, daughter Lisa Bradshaw & husband David. Her grandchildren; whom she adored Tyler, Brian, Xavier, Sierra, Keely, Zoe and Sam. Sister Barbara Sallis, brother Brian Roberts (Brenda), sister-in-law Pat Lidstone (Norm), dogs Jack and Quila, and many nieces and nephews, aunts and cousins.
Our family cannot express adequately the immense amount of gratitude to the staff of The Views-Oceanview for their kind, compassionate love and care of our Bev. They were like one big extended family who in mom’s last few months made her feel safe, happy, loved and welcomed us all into their family. We would also like to thank Dr. Konway and Dr. G. Kisman for their care.
No service by request but we will honour mom at a family and friend gathering soon. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the SPCA in her memory.
