Bernice Robinson

Bernice was born August 3, 1919 to William and Mary Mills in Killam, Alberta. After completing high school in Waskatenau, Alberta, she met the man of her dreams and married Ralph Robinson March 6, 1940. They farmed together near Waskatenau and then Notch Hill, B.C. enjoying life while working hard and raising a family. Bernice gave birth to three children, Marilyn, Rae and Garry. The family then moved to Vancouver where Bernice helped turn a “chicken coop” into temporary living quarters while helping Ralph build a new house and working at a local box factory. Then off to Surrey, with the family where she again helped build a new house while working at a camper factory. As the “kids” grew up and left, it was off to Langley, this time taking the house with them where she worked with Ralph to establish it on a new foundation. After a number of years in Langley, Bernice and Ralph heard the call of the North and off they went together to the town of Houston, B.C. They initially lived in a older house in town, before moving out to the “bush” on the Buck Flats Road where you guessed it, Bernice worked along side of Ralph to build a new log house. She lived there for a number of years enjoying with Ralph the wilderness lifestyle until a forest fire. This and health issues prompted another move and this time it was to Quesnel. Arriving in Quesnel, they lived in a nice older home for a few years and eventually settled in a new unit at “Aveline Place”, a gated community in Quesnel. Following an accident in the Corolla, Bernice spent a lengthy stay in the hospital before taking up residence at Dunrovin Lodge. Bernice touched many lives with her caring helpful spirit and made many lifelong friends. On August 29, 2007 God sent his angels to usher her into a glorious eternity with him. During her life, Bernice was an industrious helper, a loyal wife, a constant companion, a wonderful Mother and a gentle compassionate friend to many. She will be deeply missed by her husband Ralph, daughter Marilyn Partiac of surrey, son Rae (Elaine) of Quesnel, son Garry (Pauline) of Barriere, sister Glady Fulton of Comox, grandchildren Dale Robinson of Calgary, Steven Robinson of Kamloops, Laurie Robinson of Surrey, Great grandchildren, Bryce Robinson, Brandon Robinson, Amy Robinson, Tyler Robinson, Danielle Robinson, Michael Robinson, and her many friends.
