Barry Allan Beech

February 14, 1946 – April 14, 2017

Barry passed away

peacefully at his home in

Courtenay on April 14, 2017

with his family close by, after

a year-long battle with liver

cancer. He is survived by

his wife Laraine, daughter

Diane and husband Steve,

grandchildren Dawn and

Robert, and son David. Also

survived by mother-in-law

Kay, stepdaughter Pam and

husband Gordon, and grandchildren Chloe, Anthony and

Aidan, as well as sister Lois, brother-in-law Francis and

numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by

his parents Robert and Elsie, brother Ray and sister-in-law

Betty, daughter April and brother-in-law Dennis, as well as

his constant and devoted companion, Pepper.

Barry was born in Kamloops, but grew up and spent many

working years in Revelstoke before moving to Mica Creek,

where he and Laraine were married in 1987. His career

as an equipment operator, truck driver and bus driver in

Revelstoke and Mica, also took him to Dawson City, Sylvan

Lake, Campbell River and finally Burnaby, where he retired

in 2007.

In July 2013 he and Laraine settled in Courtenay where

he spent his retirement on the golf course, riding his bike,

playing pool and poker, and enjoying the company of

family and friends.

Many thanks to the doctors, Homecare Nurses and Care

Aides who provided such compassionate care in his final

days. A celebration of life will be held in Campbell River in

June and details will be announced when arrangements

have been made.

No flowers by request.
