Aron was born on March 29, 1923 in Zentral, Russia. He passed away in the early hours of April 4th, 2009 at the Glenwood Care Centre in Agassiz.

Aron was predeceased by his wife, Tillie in January 2007 and an infant son in 1952. He leaves behind his children Sandi Sawatzky, Lorraine (Glyn) Jones, Naida (Tony) Miller, Terry (Donna Cowan) Sawatzky, and Will (Kelly Dyer) Sawatzky. His grandchildren Andrew and Jennifer Herrington, Cameron and Marissa Miller, Adina Moore, and Dylan Sawatzky. Sisters Sue (Pete) Enns and Freda Starr, in-laws Frieda Hanson, Sieg Martin, Ivan Martin, and Arnie (Annetta) Martin and a large extended family.

Aron’s family emigrated to Canada in 1925. After living in Zelma, Saskatchewan for six years, they moved to BC. Aron served in the RCAF 1943 -1945. He met Tillie when they were living on neighbouring dairy farms in Agassiz. They married in 1949 and started their family. The family moved to Summerland in 1955, where Aron worked at the Research Station for 38 years, as well as running an orchard. After 43 years in Summerland, Aron and Tillie moved back to Agassiz, where they resided since 1996.

Aron lived at the Glenwood Care Centre for the last five and a half years of his life. His family would like to thank the Glenwood staff and residents for their loving care and friendship.

Memorial service to be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 9460 Charles Street, Chilliwack on Thursday, April 9th at 11:00 am.
