NELSON, Arlene (nee McMunn)

February 10, 1952 – October 15, 2013

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Arlene Nelson, beloved wife, mother and Nana. Arlene had fought a private battle with cancer for 4 years. Arlene is survived by her husband, John, son Duane (Stacey) Morphet, grandchildren Kirkland and Blake, son Scott Morphet, step-daughter Kelly (Dan) Cruse of Brisbane, Australia, grandchildren Shinae and Noa, and step-daughter Stacey Nelson of Sydney, Australia. Arlene also leaves behind her parents, Thomas and Jackie McMunn and brother Rick McMunn.

Arlene spent her early adult life in Pitt Meadows raising her two sons as a single mom. John and Arlene married in 1990 and moved to the Whistler / Pemberton area, where Arlene worked for the local school district. They returned to the Pitt Meadows area for retirement in 2009. Arlene was a lovely, gentle and fun-loving lady. She enjoyed her family, the outdoors and particularly trips to the lake with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 10th, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Golden Ears United Church, located at 22165 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge.
