Mom was born Dec. 17, 1919 in Almelo, Netherlands. She married Nicolaas Oostlander on Oct. 3, 1946. They immigrated to Lethbridge, Alberta with four children after which two more children were born. She lived in several other places including Calgary, Vernon and High River. Her final move was to the Comox Valley.
She is predeceased by husband Nicolaas, daughter Rita, son Nick and son-in-law Henry. She is survived by her sister (101 years old), 4 children, 2 daughters-in-law, 4 sons-in-law, 14 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
Mom loved life, loved to participate in games and always had an optimistic attitude. Her family was the most important thing in her life as was her faith. She will truly be missed by everyone that was blessed to know her.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 2 pm at the Aaron House Church, Courtenay, BC.
