The family of Andrea Elizabeth Mary Bona announce her passing on 28 September 2019 at the age of sixty-two years. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Andrea will be remembered by her brothers, Garry (Kim Brewer) of Fredericton, Kevin (Edmonton), Shaun (Simon Rapula Magano) of Bedford, and Michael (Vancouver), her treasured niece Kevane Bona-Stronge (Michael Stronge) and nephew Heath, grand- nephew Jack, and grand-niece, Molly. Andrea was predeceased by her father Doctor Andrew Daniel, mother (Edith Monica Savage), and brother, Andrew David Laurier.
In 1975, Andrea graduated from St. Vincent’s High School in Saint John, New Brunswick. From 1975 to 1977, she attended St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She then studied at the Saint John Institute of Technology from where she completed the Certified Nursing Orderly Program in 1979. Andrea went on to complete an Accounting/Computer Applications course from CompuCollege School of Business.
Andrea’s professional work experience began in 1979 as a Registered Nursing Orderly at the Saint John Regional Hospital. As she moved westward, Andrea was employed by R.L. Polk & Co. as a Satellite Office Manager. Once settled in Ashcroft, British Columbia and from 2002 to present, Andrea owned and operated bonafide books, meticulously dedicated to working with local businesses and individuals.
Andrea had always been a staunch community advocate in Ashcroft; she was a kind-hearted individual, always willing to assist others. She was ceaselessly proud of and loyal to her many friends, near and wide, all of whom had unreserved and positive influences on her life. She had a huge love and devotion to her pets and truly brought positivity through her humour and kind heart.
Affectionately nicknamed Blue hazel eyes, Andrea was a bundle of awesomeness and our memories of her will become our treasures.
Celebration of life, Friday October 4th, 11 am to 3 pm at the HUB Community Centre, 711 Hill Street , Ashcroft, BC. A celebration of Life will be planned in Cape Breton in the spring or summer of 2020.
