Amelia Marie Louise Tuyttens passed away on November 3, 2003 at the Glenwood Rest Home in Agassiz. She was 98 years old. Amelia was born in Duck Lake, NWT.
She is survived by her daughter Yvonne Tremblay of Kamloops and son Maurice (Grace) Tuyttens also of Kamloops, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Louise Johnson, Odyle “Chick”Cheramy, Alice Hewer, Yvonne Russell and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Maurice in 1978 and son, Albert, in 1993.
Amelia was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Red Cross , C.W.L. and Agricultural Assoc. She recently received the Governor Generals award for service to her community.
Prayers was said Thursday, November 6,2003 at 7:00 P.M. from the St Anthony of Padau. Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Anthony of Padua on Friday, November 7, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. with Father D.D. MacDonald, O.M.I. as celebrant. Interment to follow at Valleyview Cemetery, Agassiz. Donations can be made in Amelia’s memory to a charity of choice or to the Catholic Women’s League.
