Abraham (Abe) Falk was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He lovingly leaves behind his wife Elisabeth, 3 children: Ron (Christina), Halwin (Karen) and Lindy (Kris Bradford) and his 9 grandchildren, siblings: Tina (Dietrich) Doerksen, Jakob (Dina), Neta (Dietrich) Klassen, Gerhard (Jane), Peter (Sylvia), Lena (Erich) Wiebe and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers and his grandson Tiegen – who ran to meet him!
Born on March 25, 1945 in Chaco, Paraguay, Colony Menno, Abe was a hard worker and started his own company “Falk’s Drywall” after coming to Canada. He was known around town as “Honest Abe” and lived up to his nickname! Dad had a heart for young people and loved to encourage them in their walk with Jesus. He also strove to be at peace with others and his desire was that others would do the same.
A big thank you to Dr. Atkinson, Dr. Granger and his team, Dr. Chan, the palliative care nurses and the nurses on telemetry and 2 West.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Mennonite Church. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008 at 10:30 a.m at Ebenezer Mennonite Church followed by interment at Maclure Road Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Abe may be made to B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation.
