Water restrictions set to take place in Castlegar area on June 15

Blueberry and Lucas Road residents are included in the water restrictions

Water restrictions are set to go into effect in Castlegar, Blueberry and Lucas Road on June 15.

The City of Castlegar said water sprinkling will only be allowed on every second day for residents.

Residents living at odd number addresses can water on odd number calendar days while residents living at even number addresses can water on even number calendar days.

Car washing will only be allowed to take place from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on a daily basis.

Residents who use a water regular system like a timer will be allowed to water between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. on alternate days.

Residents could be faced with a $50 fine if they fail to follow the regulations.

In some cases, residents can apply for a water use exemption permit online or by calling city hall at 250-365-7227.

The water restrictions will be in place until Sept. 15.
