Some North Westside Road residents being urged to cut back on water consumption.

The Regional District of Central Okanagan will be conducting repairs and upgrades to the Westshore Estates water system in May.

“This work may result in temporary isolated water disruptions, while our staff is working in a particular area of the system,” said Bruce Smith, communications co-ordinator.

“This work will include replacing old blow-off stand pipes, used to remove stale water from dead ends, as well as repairing hydrants along the system.”

All Westshore customers are asked to limit their outdoor irrigation until May 26 as the system will only be operating one lake pump as the second pump is being refurbished.

“If after crews have worked in your area, you notice temporary sediment or discolo

uration of your water, please run your cold water taps until the water runs clear,” said Smith. “Some customers may also experience trapped air in their water service which can be rectified by running water until normal flow and pressure is restored.”
