The Chilliwack School Board meeting of Tuesday, Jan. 30 can be viewed online here, as it livestreams from the school board office.
The meeting is set to begin at 7 p.m., and remains archived for viewing here and on Youtube.
Some of the items on the agenda for the meeting include the first reading of this year’s budget, an overview of the quarterly budget, an update on reconfiguration, and a presentation from Chilliwack secondary school’s success with their on-site hairdressing trade program.
While the past few meetings in Chilliwack have been packed and surrounded by rallies, earlier on Tuesday the district announced they would be closing the lobby and limiting public access to available seating only.
They posted on their website the following reasoning:
“Please note that, due to security and safety challenges, in addition to Fire Regulations, members of the public will not be allowed in the School District Office Lobby before, during or after the Regular Public Board Meetings. Members of the public are welcome in the Board Meeting room during the meetings, up to the capacity of available seating only – no standing room. Members of the public are also invited to watch the live streamed meetings on their computers and smart phones.”
