Vernon RCMP are looking for help in finding a missing local man.

Paul Kormendy, 28, left a medical facility in Vernon Saturday without completing his treatment, and police are concerned for his safety.

“We are requesting the public’s assistance in locating him so that he can receive the necessary medical attention,” said Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.

Inquiries have been done at the usual places that Kormendy likes to go, however he has not been found.

“Information from relatives is that it is possible that Paul may attempt to walk into a forested area to camp, or he may even attempt to hitchhike to Calgary as he has relatives there,” said Moledyk.

Kormendy is also known to frequent an area in Kamloops called Green Stone Tower.

A warrant has been issued for Kormendy’s return.

He is described as six-foot-two, weighs 181-pounds and has blond hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a camo baseball cap, red zip-up hoodie and jeans.

Anyone with any information on Kormendy’s whereabouts is asked to call the nearest RCMP detachment.
