The Revelstoke RCMP is working to get its phone line back up and running after it went down early Thursday afternoon.
The outage is not affecting 911 calls.
Staff-Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky said the phones went down at around noon on Thursday, June 11. The cause of the outage and the estimated repair time is unknown.
The outage appears to be isolated to the detachment. Police are unable to make or receive calls in the meantime.
“The public is advised that if they receive a busy signal when calling the local detachment, and their matter is of an urgent nature, to call 911 for assistance,” said Grabinsky. “Phones are not currently forwarding to the Operational Communication Centre based in Kelowna.”
