Williams Lake manager of utilities and fleet Joe Engelberts said outstanding garbage pick up was rectified by Wednesday evening.
“I received a text from the collector at 10 p.m. saying it was all caught up,” Engelberts said Thursday. “It will be business as usual today and moving forward.”
Garbage and recycling pick up has been delayed in Williams Lake due to mechanical issues with the garbage/recycling collection truck.
In a notice issued Wednesday by the city, however, residents are being asked to leave their garbage and recycling on the curb until it is collected.
Manager of Utilities and Fleet Joe Engelberts said the truck began having problems on Monday morning.
“Central Cariboo Disposal brought their backup truck on line, but it’s not as fast as the newer one that broke down,” Engelberts said Wednesday. “They have fallen behind but are telling me they hope to have everything from yesterday and today picked up by tonight.”
