UPDATE: Auld Phillips closing July 4 after more than half a century in downtown Chilliwack

Auld Phillips of Chilliwack grew into a fashion chain with 60+ stores across Western Canada

The Auld Phillips store is closing after more than 50 years at the corner of Yale Road east and Nowell Street.

The clothing store was a retail institution in Chilliwack, and now it is set to close for good on July 4.

Auld Phillips was established in 1965, and the business grew to more than 60 stores across Western Canada under the brand names Suzanne’s and Jenny’s, Suzanne’s, Jenny’s and Top Shop.

The fashion chain sold its majority interest to Stern Partners, a Vancouver investment firm, in 2016. ​​

The other stores in town operated by the brand, including, Suzanne’s, Jenny’s and Top Shop, will remain open.
