Two crashes tie up West Kelowna traffic

Two seperate traffic incidents took place in West Kelowna on Wednesday.

Emergency crews were called out to the Highway 97 C Wednesday afternoon after a motorcyclist crashed into ditch.

The incident occurred about 3 p.m. near Brenda Mine and Sunset Main.

Witnesses say the rider was upside down in the ditch and was the only person injured in the incident.

A lane of the highway was blocked while emergency crews remained on scene.

It’s unclear what caused the crash.

West Kelowna emergency crews were again called out just a few hours later to attend a two vehicle collision on Highway 97.

The rear-end crash took place in the north bound lanes near Bartley Road, about 5:45 p.m.

It’s unclear if anyone sustained any injuries from either the small white car or the white pickup involved.
