A three-vehicle crash left two people injured and snarled traffic on busy Langley roads the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 11.

The crash, involving a gold RAV 4, a Jeep Wrangler, and a Ford Focus took place around 10:20 a.m. at the intersection of 80th Avenue and 200th Street, on the west side of the intersection.

According to Cpl. Holly Largy, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP, the Jeep Wrangler was northbound and turning left onto 80th Avenue across the southbound lanes of 200th Street.

The RAV 4, meanwhile, entered the intersection southbound in the farthest west lane, Largy said.

The RAV 4 struck the Wrangler, sending it rolling over the median on 80th Avenue, slamming into the Ford Focus, which had been waiting on 80th Avenue for the light to change.

The Wrangler ended up sitting on the median on 80th Avenue, crushing a signpost underneath it. The Ford Focus was pushed backward, while the RAV 4 was left closer to the intersection at 200th Street.

Two people were taken to hospital by ground ambulance with what firefighters on the scene said were relatively minor injuries.

The crash left much of 200th Street southbound blocked for some time as emergency crews dealt with the damaged vehicles and treated injured drivers. Access to 80th Avenue west of 200th Street was also limited.
