Thief targets West Kelowna donation boxes

Police are looking for a suspect after several donation boxes were stolen with money meant to support veterans and seriously ill children.

Police are looking for a suspect after several donation boxes were stolen with money meant to support veterans and seriously ill children.

Since Oct. 31, West Kelowna RCMP have received at least four separate complaints of theft of donation boxes from various businesses.

In each instance, an unknown man entered the business and left with the donation box when staff were distracted.

Each box contained an unknown amount of cash donated to the Royal Canadian Legion’s poppy fund, which supports veterans, and the Ronald McDonald House, which supports seriously ill children.

Anyone with information regarding the identify of the suspect is asked to call West Kelowna RCMP Const. Folz at 250-768-2880.
