Targeted stabbing at notorious Chilliwack apartment complex

Injured man allegedly fled scene last Friday and showed up at Abbotsford hospital

Another violent incident has taken place at what is becoming a notorious Chilliwack apartment complex.

A stabbing Friday afternoon at McIntosh Manor near A.D. Rundle school drew a police presence of more than a dozen cruisers and unmarked vehicles.

Photo-doorOn Tuesday, Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Rail said the officers descended on the complex in the 45000-block of McIntosh Drive at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 9 in response to a report of a stabbing.

“Officers quickly arrived at the address where they were told a man – who appeared to be injured – had left in a vehicle,” Rail said in a statement to The Progress Tuesday.

A male with non-life threatening injuries was later located at the Abbotsford hospital by police.

The Chilliwack RCMP General Investigation Support Team (GIST) have conduct of the investigation and believe the incident was targeted.

McIntosh Manor was in the news last summer when one unit was subject to tight police scrutiny after a homicide downtown Chilliwack in July. Arrested and charged with murder in connection with the killing of Doug Presseau are Kirkland Joseph Russell and Victoria Sherri Purcell.

One tenant of the building said that the seven years he and his family have lived in the building have been “hell.”

“I have been pepper-sprayed, attacked with a knife, hammer, assaulted, plus other things,” he said.

“Never a dull moment in McIntosh Manor,” another person said on Facebook.

“They need to clean that place up,” said yet another.
