Stolen sleds recovered in Penticton

Police have recovered a Ford F350 pickup truck, trailer and four of six sleds which were reported stolen from Kelowna in December

“The Kelowna RCMP received a report of a theft of vehicle from the 1900 block of Underhill Street,  Dec. 23. A white Ford F350, with a Wells Cargo trailer and six snowmobiles, all bearing Saskatchewan plates, had apparently been taken sometime overnight,” said Const. Kris Clark.

While acting on a tip from the public, Dec. 31 2014,  members of the Kelowna RCMP Street Enforcement Units, with assistance from uniformed and plainclothes officers from Penticton and West Kelowna, searched a residence on the 2700 block of Marron Valley Road in Penticton.

“Four of the six stolen sleds, along with the truck and trailer were all recovered. No arrests have yet been made and the investigation is ongoing,” said Clark.

The two snowmobiles that remain outstanding are:

A 2006 grey Ski-Doo Freestyle 300 with a 121 inch (307 cm) track; and

A 2007 grey Ski-Doo Freestyle 550 with a 136 inch (345 cm) track.
